Elvis, you dirty, racist, oppressive whore.
I bet this is you taking a stab at all the beef you got after posting hipster appropriators wearing feather bonnets.
Well.
Even after all this, you clearly don’t understand the problem with real cultural appropriation.
Let me clue you in; Elvis Presley was part Cherokee, and this photo is from his induction into the LA Tribal Council by Creek Indian Chief Wah-Nee-Ota in recognition of his portrayal of the son of a white man and a Native American woman in the film Flaming Star, and as the feather bonnet back then was still one of the most easily identifiable Native American artefacts, the bestowal of a feather bonnet upon Elvis was a way to show him respect, in other words; said bestowal counted as a proof of him thereby having been considered an accepted member of a tribal council.
So, what then is the difference between this picture and a picture of a white girl with her tits out wearing a war bonnet?
In short;
- Nobody has ever given a feather bonnet to a hipster so that they could use it as a cool accessory.
- Elvis Presley was given a war bonnet in recognition of his induction into a pan-Native American tribal council.
- Elvis Presley was part Native American.
- Elvis Presley never wore this feather bonnet apart from during the ceremony, as he understood its deep, spiritual meaning.
Huh, I learned something new about Elvis.
Haha, someone got told.
I never knew that about Elvis! Interest.
This is like that time I found out Andy Warhol was Catholic. And George Orwell was a Socialist.
Huh, this is interesting. :O
