I am thinking/hoping many of you have seen this, but it’s a very powerful piece that Lawrence O’Donnell did on The Last Word about the police brutality that had occurred at the Occupy Wall Street protests. Moreso, it’s about police brutality that occurs every single day, the large majority of which isn’t documented by an onlooker’s video camera.
Police are not corrupt because they give you parking tickets and moving violations that you don’t think you deserve. What you see above is a serious fucking issue, an issue that is going to go unsolved because the people that are hurting us are the people that are supposed to be protecting us. And our “protectors” are more interested in protecting one another instead of doing their jobs as they were sworn to do. Their illegal actions are defended and swept under the rug because no one with authority dare speak an ill word about anyone wearing a badge.
I am happy to see this getting mainstream news coverage. Please watch this and spread the word.
Reblogging this as much for the commentary as for the initial video. Signal boost to the extreme.
