In 2011, contrary to popular belief, it did NOT suck to be me.
Sure, there were parts that were pretty awful, like the whole unemployment thing, being detained by customs, and the hurricane, but overall, I can’t complain. I met some really wonderful people, both online and off (and sometimes combining the two), without whom my life wouldn’t nearly have been as interesting. I learned how to ski and actively enjoyed it! I traveled a lot - to Pittsburgh (ick), to North Carolina (also ick), to Georgia (yay!) and to Scotland (also yay!), and I wish I could have traveled more. I discovered the wonderful world of ponies and Monster High. OH YEAH, I GOT MY MASTER’S DEGREE IN GEOSCIENCE. I rode a Segway and didn’t die! I picked up rock climbing. I kind of slacked in the tattoo department because I was broke but that’s okay. And I gained a little weight but that’s okay too, I just wish I could fit in my ski pants.
So overall, 2011, fuck yeah. I’m ready for you, 2012.
